I am going to write anonymously about personal finance and lessons-learned in the “school of hard knocks” over more than 50 years of life. What makes me somewhat relevant in this topic? In addition to the decades of life experience, I was fortunate to become a self-made millionaire by age 35 and had to learn how to manage what I considered to be a large amount of money for me and my family. I know that becoming a millionaire is a “burden” that anyone would willingly take, but learning how to manage money, in addition to working and rearing children, did take some time and effort.
I have a wife and four children, so I’ll also write about how to balance financial demands, like child-rearing costs, funding retirement accounts, paying for college, and managing needy friends and family. I’ll also sprinkle in some travel stories (related to personal finance) because travel is one of my main outside interests. Fair warning that everything I write is only my opinion and not an endorsement or recommendation.
